2015-2016 Ridgeview Ambassadors
One of the most exciting things about being a fifth grade student at Ridgeview is having the opportunity to represent the school as global ambassador for the school year. Each year, between ten and twelve fifth grade students are chosen for this great honor. The process is not easy; therefore, the ambassadors must really work hard and shine in order to be chosen. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, receive two letters of reference from two previous teachers, as well as write a five-paragraph essay detailing why they would make a great student ambassador for the year. During the application process, students are able to pick the country of their choice. Most students either choose a country that is significant to their family's cultural heritage, or one that they would like to learn more about. Student ambassadors help out in a wide variety of areas including hosting guests on campus, providing tours, alongside being a positive role model for students and peers in lower grades. Our student ambassadors are also required to complete an hour of community service per month and attend monthly meetings where they are given various projects to work on. If you are interested in becoming an ambassador when you are in fifth grade, take a gander through the website to see what our 2013-2014 Ambassadors have been up to this year!
2014-2015 Applications are due on Friday, September 12, 2014
This year, students may choose to apply to be an Ambassador online. Use the file above to fill out the application. Save the file on your computer with your first and last name, then upload the file using the fields on the right of this screen. These applications will go directly to my email. You may also print the forms, fill them out by hand and return them to Miss McCormick as well.. This just gives those of you that are tech savvy a chance to submit your application digitally. Good luck! I'm looking forward to a great group of Ambassadors this year. Ambassadors for the 2015-2016 school year will be announced the first week of October.
